Big Turnout for the Christmas General Meeting

Almost sixty people were in attendance at the NPARC General Meeting last night in Fonthill at the Royal Canadian Legion. After the usual formalities Rick, VE3MM gave an excellent talk about the N2PK Vector Network Analyzer. He managed to explain a very complicated topic in simple terms through a power point presentation and a couple examples. The analysis of a 20 meter wire dipole was very interesting. The Vector Network Analyzer was used to plot the SWR over a wide frequency range and then plot data on a Smith Chart. Through networking on the internet, Rick was able to obtain information, components and software to make his project for less than $400.00. A far cry from the $80,000 needed for a commercially built unit. Thank-you Rick for your presentation. For more information about the N2PK Vector Network Analyzer go to http://n2pk.com/VNA/VNAarch.html.

Following the Christmas meeting, members and guests enjoyed pizza, chicken wings, chicken on a bun and refreshments. The home baked cookies were supplied by Anne, VE3XAJ. A thank-you goes to Brian, VE3BMX and Peter, VA3PKV for the tasty food. Here are a few pictures from last nights General Meeting. For more pictures by John, VA3BOZ Click Here.
