Field Day 2006
Great Weather for Field Day
It was a perfect day for Field Day. The weather could not have been better. The bands were not too bad either. Every one attending had a great time. A special thank-you to Bob, VE3HNH for pulling Field Day together and a thank-you to John, VA3BOZ for manning the galley. To see more photos from Field Day, Click Here.
Latest Field Day 2006 News
Hi everyone,
Well it is that time again. Field Day. The last full weekend of June. The basic philosophy of field day at NPARC is to have fun and fellowship. It doesn't matter if you come out for an hour or a few hours or the whole weekend. If you have just gotten your license or if you have been licensed for a hundred years, OR DON'T HAVE YOUR LICENSE YET, come out and enjoy. We will let you operate a station for an hour, several hours or the whole time. We will guarantee you some operating time. Also hope to have some surprises for those who attend. ( Even show operators how to 'save' to their 'floppy' properly.) HI HI.
Now, we need some help to fill out the bands, and if you want to be a captain or operator for any of the available bands, please contact me by email bob.ve3hnh@cogeco.ca or by calling me on the landline @ 905-682-9517.
We have a 'Chief cook and Bottle Washer' volunteer, already, so more need not apply.
Cheers & 73 all,
De Bob, VE3HNH
Thorold, ON - Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th, 2006
Join in the fun of Field Day. A chance to make as many contacts as possible under trying conditions. If you are new to the hobby, this will be your introduction to contesting. Have fun setting up generators, radios, tents and antennas. Have fun using solar, wind, batteries or generators to power your radio. This once a year contest keeps us amateurs ready in the unlikely event the grid goes down. It is fun, it is outdoors, it is what amateur radio is all about.
This year Nparc members will be getting together Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th in Thorold, Ontario at Basil Reid Park on Allanburg Road beside the Fire Hall. Contact Bob, VE3HNH at bob.ve3hnh@cogeco.ca if you would like to help with this fun event. If you like camping, you will love Field Day.
